GENDER EQUALITY

Championing Women's Leadership & Empowerment

At the ALDO Group, we are committed to female leadership and believe that gender diversity on executive and leadership teams positively contributes to business performance. And we can vouch for it: 70% of our workforce is female and 58% of our leaders are women. As strong supporters of the existing fight for equality, we are determined to help move the needle and we aim to empower women not only within our organization but also in our community. Through numerous partnerships dedicated to women's empowerment and prosperity, we endeavor to make a positive impact and to witness as many women as possible reaching their full potential.

Supporting Women in our Communities

Over the years, the ALDO Group has supported women through various initiatives meant to address women’s needs and foster empowerment and prosperity on a larger scale. We not only collaborate with prominent organizations rooted in our communities but also take great pride in recognizing the numerous grassroots initiatives orchestrated by our associates worldwide. Whether it's our Montreal teams assisting young women in finding the ideal shoe for prom in partnership with Les Fées Marraines or our ALDO Far East associates embarking on a hike in Tongsha Ecological Park to advocate for women's health, our dedication to supporting women knows no bounds.

Two Ten Foundation's WIFI Community

As a long-standing partner of Two Ten, a non-profit support organization for people in the footwear industry, we took a special interest in their Women In Footwear Industry (WIFI) Community, an affinity group for women who wish to network, share information, and support each other while advancing their careers.

For the second year running, we are also the official presenter of their WIFI Virtual Series which sees panels organized throughout the year, bringing together illustrious female leaders to share their insights and opinions on the footwear industry’s important topics.

Native Women's Association of Canada

The Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC) is a national Indigenous organization providing critical services to Indigenous Women, Girls, Two-Spirit, Transgender and Gender Diverse+ (WG2STGD+) people in Canada.

In 2023, the ALDO Group made a donation to directly support their Resiliency Lodge program, an Elder-led initiative providing healing spaces for survivors of residential schools and intergenerational trauma.

Women’s Centre of Montreal Foundation

The Women’s Centre of Montreal is a non-profit organization created by women, for women. Their mission is to provide educational and vocational training, as well as information, counselling and referral services to help women help themselves.

In 2023, our Chief Financial Officer, Geneviève Brouillette, was co-president of the Women's Centre of Montreal Foundation's fundraising event, which saw a record-breaking amount of funds raised. The ALDO Group made a financial donation to the cause, along with several exclusive items and experiences that were auctioned off at the event.

Le Chaînon

Founded in 1932, Le Chaînon's mission is to welcome, unconditionally and without judgment, women in difficult situations. With a goal to promote the defense of women’s rights, the organization offers them safe housing as well as assistance and support tailored to their needs.

Every year on the last Tuesday of November, the ALDO Group celebrates Giving Tuesday by making corporate donations to those in need. In 2023, our associates prepared 230 personal care packages intended for women at Le Chaînon. We also actively encourage our associates to volunteer their time there to get a better understanding of societal issues facing women going through hardship. "

Dress for Success

For several years now, we have been lending a hand from time to time to Dress for Success, a not-for-profit organization that aims to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

In 2023, we organized a donation drive that yielded a sizable amount of clothes to help build the professional wardrobes of women in need.

Great Place to Work®

Best Workplaces™ for Women

In 2024, the ALDO Group made the Great Place to Work® list of Best Workplaces™ for Women.

To be eligible, organizations must be Great Place to Work™ Certified in the past year, have at least 50 female employees complete the survey and 90% of all respondents must agree that people are treated fairly regardless of their gender. Entries on this list are determined based on the average Trust Index score from female employees in eligible organizations. As a company, we’ve always been committed to women’s leadership and empowerment, so this distinction means a lot to us and we are thankful to all our associates who shared their honest feedback!

70%

of our associates are female. Do you wish to join them?
